Krishnamacharyas yoga mandala David is also co-Founder of Teacher Training at New York Yoga and teaches a Morning Meditation / Vinyasa flow ongoing program at the York Avenue studio. David Hollander was introduced to Yoga as a child through his father's Buddhist practice and again as a teenager. David studied Yoga in the late 1980's at a variety of studios in the New York area and began a meditation practice with Sri Chinmoy and his students as well as experiencing both zen and Tibetan Buddhist practices. In 1992 he began studying an Iyengar-influenced style of practice with Michael Gilbert at the 92nd Street Y. Currently, he studies Asana, Sanskrit and philosophy with a number of instructors including: V. Sheshadri, Dr. V. Nagaraj, Manju Jois, Dharma Mittra, and others, both in the west and on his frequent journeys to India. |
